Brownie Magic

We employed our most princess-like manners at Brownie Magic this past Saturday. Ms. Angie and Ms. Anjela took charge this weekend and escorted us through science experiments, puppet shows, singing, Green Starlette demonstrations and much more. Here is more proof of our exciting day at Camp Whispering Pines.

Next Float Assignment

All of the activities we are doing related to our Nine Flags Festival float and our book club selection are steps for earning our Hispanic Heritage patch.

Here is your next assignment. Each girl needs to make a Mexican flag to hold during the parade. Any format is fine.

Here are some ideas:

Making Float Decorations

Tonight we began the crazed process of making float decorations. Ms. Alisa taught us how to make tissue flowers -just watch the video so you can make thousands of needed flowers :)

We also made cut tissue paper art. Both of these crafts were inspired from Ms. Alisa's TIDES teacher expeditions to Mexico.

Here are more pictures from our first Mexican craft night...

Meet Josefina at the Nine Flags Festival

This is news to the few of you who were not at our last meeting...

Because the troop had such a blast participating in the homecoming parade...

and the theme of the Nine Flags festival this year is Mexico...

We have altered the plans for our Book Club party to include entering a Meet Josefina float in the Nine Flags Festival Parade.
The girls are ecstatic about decorating a Meet Josefina float. Our next three Monday night meetings, the afternoon after Brownie Magic and the day of the festival will be dedicated to making Mexican crafts with Ms. Alisa to decorated our float. We will hammer out more details at our November 17th meeting. Meanwhile, the girls started brainstorming while they were waiting to be picked up Sunday morning.

You are not coloring until someone claims this underwear!
